How To Dress Weell is the lo-fi home made project of a dude called Tom Krell. He has some early R&B vibe from the 80's and 90's with very lo-fi recordings that sometimes saturate, truly representing what a living room and a basement can sound, but what today I'm going to post about him is a very personal track for a very personal feeling. The song is a cover of R. Kelly's song I wish, and with less anger and less beat the lyrics of the song really shine through and reveal the amazing songwriting and how amazingly well done is this cover made. In his blog Krell refered to it so I'll quote and leave it there.

i lost my best friend and i sang this song for him. this was a really beautiful and sad experience for me – the video is the only take of the song, the first time i've ever played it, culling the lyrics from memory and singing from my soul with and for my boy.

i hope if you've lost someone you love you know that this shit is from the bottom of the heart.
